From September 2017, our Pre-School at High Lane Primary School will operate Monday to Friday offering afternoon sessions only (15-hours per week). We will be working in partnership with High Lane Primary School so that parents can access 30-hours per week high quality early years childcare. High Lane School Nursery will be running the morning sessions (15-hours per week) – please contact the school directly for information regarding the admissions process – T: 01663-762378.
Marple Childcare are able to accept ‘paid for’ top-up sessions for parents not eligible for the funded 30-hours at £16.50 per 3-hour session.
At High Lane, there is also the option of doing a full day which can be helpful for working parents, our KIDZONE before and after school club takes children from 3-years-old. KIDZONE is available from 7.30am and children who attend will be escorted to Nursery at the appropriate time. At the end of the Pre-School session at 3.15pm, children can be taken over to KIDZONE where they can stay through to 6.00pm (5.30pm Friday).
Please see our ‘information & resources’ page for details of how to register. Any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact either the school or ourselves who will be happy to help.
As a statutory requirement we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, covering the seven areas of learning and development:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
For further information about the EYFS, please take a look at the following documents:
Healthy snacks are offered during sessions, but children must bring their own packed lunch if staying for a full day. Fresh drinking water is available at all times.
A similar routine is followed every day to give the children a feeling of stability and security, but we have a flexible approach as needs arise. Our focus is to develop a range of social, life and self-help skills. Activities such as circle times, shared mealtimes, dressing skills and personal hygiene support this. Knowledge is enhanced through purposeful play and a wide variety of learning opportunities. These include: mark-making, construction, stories, puppets, sand, water, imaginative play, ICT, numeracy, scientific experiments, music and physical activities.
Our Pre-School has safe outdoor facilities. These are used in all weathers, encouraging play and learning to take place outdoors.
We communicate to parents on a daily basis, both verbally and through a written Home/Pre-School diary. Settling in sessions are available for children and parents.
Our Pre-School Leader at High Lane is Elaine MacDonald. Please contact 07586 790 160 or our office on 0161 427 4730 for more information.
