‘A flexible range of childcare options to suit your needs’

Early Years Pupil Premium

From April 2015, the Government introduced the Early Years Pupil Premium which is paid to settings of any eligible 3 or 4 year olds for them to support children's learning. This will be the equivalent of 0.53p an hour or approximately £300 per child, per school year.

Eligible children will include children from families with an income below £16,190 and children in care or who have been adopted from care. The money can be used in anyway the school or setting feels will best support the learning of the child. This could include additional language support activities, visits which will enhance their learning or professional development activities for the staff which would lead to improvements in the child’s progress.

To check if your child is eligible, please speak to a member of staff. The local authority would need a parent’s name, date of birth and national insurance number. The local authority will then use an Eligibility Checking Service to check whether or not your child is eligible for the premium. We will share with families how we have chosen to spend our total Early Years Pupil Premium.
